  1. @hotmann29 It was actually 2-0 against Hungary. The Irish only got two
    points from a possible six at the start of the group and failed to score
    but won every match thereafter to qualify. Spain inflicted the only defeat
    on the boys in green (0-2) in Seville and the biggest win was 3-0 against
    Northern Ireland in Lansdowne Road. Great memories of a great campaign.

  3. God i remember the World Cup in Italy in 1990 as if it was only
    yesterday,amazing, i was in 5th Class, St.Joseph Boys National School in
    Clondalkin,and i was only 11, amazing World Cup, i remember the Hungary
    Match in Landsdowne Road we won 4-0, and Spain 1-0 Ray Houghton scoring,
    amazing years under Jack and God Bless him
